This week, a friend and coworker asked me to make some decorative flowers for her dog babies. Like any good
obsessed friend with
OCD knitting skills, I got right on it. I did a couple of trial runs and sent her home to try it out. When she showed me how adorable it could be, I went a little crazy. I made 5 flowers for her dog babies and am working my way through 5 bow-ties for them too.

I am going to make these a regular part of my repertoire. $5 for little flowers and bow-ties, $7 for medium sized (shown on Molly) and $9 for large. You can order the flowers on my Etsy shop
KnitMonkies.
Another friend from work was looking for something for her person baby. She wanted a puppy toque (knitted hat for all you Americans) because her little girl is in LOVE with dogs. I found the cutest pattern on line via Ravlery and whipped it up last night. I added the little tongue as my own touch! The ears look more like a bear in this picture, but when worn they flop over a little more.

So, in short, it's been a busy and fun week. I might have to take a break or my arms will fall off!
Those are adorable! The flowers could work on "person babies" too attached to a bobby pin or a hairband!
ReplyDeleteThey totally could! I've made some baby headbands in the past. They are fun too!
DeleteYou could make poppies for Remembrance Day and contribute half the money to the Poppy Fund. Good marketing program.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea, Pop!!
DeleteThese are adorable!! My pup would look adorable with a bow but he would also chew through it faster than you can say go.
ReplyDeleteAny adult-sized knitted hats though? ;)
p.s: you knit like a beast. so envious. :B
Raine, I have some adorable hats! I will put them all up on Etsy tomorrow!
DeleteI love the edition of the little tongue! And the flowers for the dog collar are adorable--I never would have thought about doing that!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I thought the tongue was cute. I wish I could take credit for the dog collar things too, but that was totally my friend.
DeleteOkay - that hat is ADORABLE! And I love your "dog glam" - so cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tara! I love the hat. Could not be happier with it!!
DeleteBoth so great! Love that hat...I can't believe you made that in a night. Mad skillzzzz
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly. I also had mad boredom. And, when I get my mind on a project, I have to finish it RIGHT THEN or it never gets done.
DeleteThese are absolutely perfect! My dog Abby has an *ahem* androgynous look to her, so one of these would be a good reminder to others that she's a girl. :)
ReplyDeleteJanelle, most dogs look androgynous unless they are currently nursing or have giant bits and pieces. Let me know and I will hook you up with a flower! No need for your girl to be an "it"!
DeleteOMG, you people with talent make me sick. I can't even sew on a button. Not even kidding. It's a production every time.
ReplyDeleteI love that a dog has (and should have) a bow tie. It makes sense.
Also, I love "person baby." Can I use that?
You can definitely use "person baby", Kathy. I love to share.
DeleteI wish Montel would wear his bow tie. He looks at me like I'm the biggest dork in the world when I make him wear it!
I had to pause for a moment when I read person baby :). I never would have considered glamming up my doggie. Love the flower. Unfortunately I have the naughtiest dog who would rest until she got it off and used it as a chew toy...she is not as concerned with fashion as she ought to be.
ReplyDeleteAmy, it is really too bad your dog would eat it. I love dressing my dog up. Much to his chagrin and that of my husband!
