Between delayed approval for plans, -50 degree C temperatures, absent plumbers, part time flooring guys, etc, etc, etc, we are a long way from moving in. The quality of the work is great, the timeliness? Not so much.
Remarkably, it still looks much like this. |
When we realized we were (and frustratingly enough still are) not going to be moving in anytime soon and had booked holidays we couldn't cancel, we decided we needed to do something else.
We had a gift certificate to a Mineral Spa in a nearby town. We booked last minute for Sunday night - a jacuzzi room with a free breakfast and full use of the mineral pools. With my back trouble (especially how badly I wretched it last week again) and The Guy working hard and stressing about the house build, we needed the relaxation.
Our bed and complimentary robe |
We lounged at the pool for awhile, soaked our troubles away, and had the rest of the afternoon to while the hours. We wandered through the city and marvelled in the beauty (though - every store was closed!)
A beautiful staircase |
I was captivated by this church. |
That was... until we went to the new house.
You can't end the story like that! Did anything extra happen at the house? Or did you just feel stressed because you had to deal with it again?
ReplyDeleteI feel a second follow up post is in order… don't leave us hanging!!!! I am glad you at least had some stress relief at the spa… :)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, an update will come soon. Just further delays again and again.
ReplyDeleteAwe, I can appreciate the frustration and disappointment with the move-in date goal posts being moved instead - not fair! Good for you and The Guy for taking care of 'you' and getting away! Sometimes you just gotta get up and go!!
ReplyDeleteSheila, it was exactly what we both needed. We decided we will definitely be doing it again.
DeleteLooks like a beautiful place! Good decision to take a break.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea, it is beautiful. If you ever have a reason to go through Moose Jaw, it's the place to be!
DeleteGood for you for getting away to relax - it looks like you needed just that to take some of the new home pressure off!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great getaway, Heather. I want to go back tomorrow!
DeleteIt's a good thing I was able to see this post a few weeks later with the updates already up. I'd probably react the same way as the other commenters above if that was the case. Hahaha! Anyway, it's good that you were able to unwind at the spa, though it was pretty tight in there when you came. Back to reading! Cheers! :)

George, sometimes being behind lets you just catch up without the wait! We are all moved in now, sort of! Thanks for dropping by!
